"When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe."John Muir

Sustainable Claremont is a bottom-up organization whose heart and soul are the people who volunteer their time to work on the many different aspects of sustainability. There is an Action Group for each of the main areas so far identified. These are listed in the menu to the left.

Sustainable Claremont members may choose to be involved with one group or with several. Each Action Group decides on its form of organization and how often and where it will meet.

Each of the Action Groups decides what projects it will undertake in the areas of education, action, and advocacy. A group may concentrate on one project, or may have subgroups working on many projects. Current projects are listed on the pages for each group.

Every Action Group designates a representative to the Board of Directors. The Directors make sure that each group is aware of the activities of the others so that opportunities to work together are not missed. As the quotation above indicates, there are many connections between the different areas!

Please take a look at the different Action Groups to see what each is doing at the moment. We hope you will lend your enthusiasm, energy, and expertise to one or more of them!
